Services
Dr Johan le Roux specialises in the following knee and hip services.

Knee Replacement
Damaged bone and cartilage in the knee joint are removed and replaced with prosthetic components. Partial knee replacement, robotic knee replacement or revision knee replacement may be performed.
Hip Replacement
Diseased parts of the hip joint are removed and replaced with artificial joints. Arthroplasty can be performed via different approaches, including the “minimally invasive” direct anterior approach.
Arthroscopy of the Knee
A minimally invasive technique where a small camera is inserted in the joint and used to examine, diagnose and treat problems in the knee joint. Also called “keyhole” surgery.
Meniscus Debridement and Repair
A torn portion of the meniscus may be repaired with sutures or removed while the healthy meniscus and cartilage remain in place.
Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Torn ligaments in the knee are repaired or reconstructed using tissue grafts to reconstruct the damaged tissue. Revision surgery may also be performed.
Cartilage Transplantation in the Knee
Healthy cartilage is taken from another part of the body and implanted into a defect to help repair part of the knee joint.
Sports Knee Surgery
Either anterior cruciate reconstruction (ACL) or medial or lateral collateral reconstruction is performed to repair knee injuries.
Knee Trauma and Dislocation
Knee injuries or dislocations can lead to knee instability and affect movement if not treated early and correctly.
Patella Dislocation
Kneecap dislocations often result in ligament tears that require reconstructive surgery.
Patella Realignment Surgery
The kneecap is adjusted surgically if it has moved out of place and cannot be corrected manually. This can be done either by reconstructing a torn ligament or moving the kneecap up, down, or sideways to regain stability.
Knee Realignment Surgery (Osteotomy)
Bones in the knee are reshaped to help realign the joint, unload the forces over a damaged portion of the cartilage and improve stability.
Full Spectrum of Orthopaedic Trauma
As an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr le Roux treats severe injuries to the bones, joints and soft tissues.
